Champagne Frerejean Frères FJF NV VV26 Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru, 750mL
The Frerejean Taittinger brothers are the latest generation in a line of cannon-makers, who supplied the French army defending the region against the Prussians, during the Napoleonic Wars. Frerejean Frères take a fresh approach to Champagne, which respects traditional methods, but leaves room for innovation. Rooted in the grand cru village of Avize, Frerejean Frères only uses grand cru and premier cru plots from the Côte des Blancs.
Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru from the Côte des Blancs. 90% Chardonnay from Cramant, 10% Chardonnay from Avize & Oger. The VV26 Grand Gru is the result of a strict selection from plots of old vineyards, some of them dating back to 1926. This bottle, sealed with an “Agrafe” which pays homage to the traditions of the “Grand Vin de Champagne”. The prolonged aging of 8 years, offers a silky palate and rounded textures, followed by toasted almonds, vanilla custard cream and subtle spices enhanced by a delicate mousse.
