Gut Oggau Atanasius
Atanasius is a blend of Zweigelt and Blaufrankisch, two local red varieties to Burgenland that combine together wonderfully.
It opens with a flourish of red fruit and fresh flowers, a hint of smouldering earth and smoke and finishes bright and clean.
There's a crunchiness and minerality to this red which makes it invigorating to drink. The purity of a fruit juice and the tension of an old world classic, this is a fascinating natural wine from one of Austria's brightest young stars.
