Larmandier Bernier Terre de Vertus 2014

blanc de blancs (100% Chardonnay) champagne, Terre de Vertus 2014 is a single-terroir, vintage cuvée with fruit coming from a single, chalky plot situated mid-slope in the Premier Cru village of Vertus in the Côte des Blancs. The well-established terroir of Les Barillers produces wines that are delicate, saline, complex and, above all, intrinsically balanced. As such, the Larmandiers cultivate fruit carefully and vinify wine slowly to respect the terroir’s purity from beginning to end.
Brilliant gold with a fine bead, the aromas of Terre de Vertus 2014 are sweepingly gorgeous: white flowers, red apple, ripe lemon and mandarin evolving into rich cream and trickling honey. The palate is pristine—racy, tense and crystalline—striking a natural balance between elegance, harmony and purity. At first, white strawberry, apple, nashi pear, cream and dark bread crust followed by chalk, saline minerality and a fine, linear finish—a cuvée that is lively, complex and classically Vertus.
