Muller Catoir Gutswein Riesling
The wine is a blend of Riesling (at least 85%), with lesser amounts of Rieslaner, Scheurebe and Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc). It comes entirely from the 2018 harvest, although you won't find a vintage on a bottle of Gutswein. Even at this level the fruit is hand-harvested, mainly from the Estate's valley floor holdings, and as always this is great value. Expect a lightning-bolt of racy, pithy freshness, although there's also a good dollop of fruit generosity to balance the expected 'electricity' in 2018. This is a wonderful pouring option that's magic with shellfish and oysters.
